A Roman bronze appliqué in the form of a human head, 1st-3rd century A.D. The appliqué depicts a human head with rounded facial features, defined eyes, nose and mouth. The head is framed by what appears to be stylized hair or a helmet, with two prominent projecting elements extending sideways. A small attachment loop or fixing point is visible at the top. Probably used as a decorative mount for furniture, a door, a casket or a vessel. Height: 2.8 cm. Width: 5.2 cm. Depth: 5.6 cm. Weight: 105.6 g.
