Original Barthel petrol burner from the 1930s–1940s by G. Barthel – “Smaragdin” Brander, copper construction with solid copper fittings, in good condition with minor signs of aging and stains; dimensions 30 × 30 × 12 cm, weight 2.2 kg.

Original Barthel petrol burner from the period 1930-1940.
Rare XL “Smaragdin” petrol burner from G. Barthel. It is a special edition in which the pipes and filling cap are made of solid copper. An extremely decorative item.
On the filling cap is engraved: Optimus.
Originally designed to operate on gasoline or petroleum, it is lovingly referred to as a petroleum burner.
These antique soldering burners were invaluable in various sectors, from the metal industry and mechanical engineering to repairing tools and even crafting beautiful jewelry. Plumbers and electricians also made industrious use of these burners to connect pipes and wires in a skilled manner.
The Gustav Barthel factory has been producing top-quality burners since 1893. In photo 3 you can see their factory in 1913.
This lot has been carefully cleaned and will be meticulously packaged, sent by registered mail and insured (with a Track & Trace code so you can follow the shipment). Pickup in Ridderkerk, South Holland, is also possible. I have delicious hand-ground coffee.
