Description from the seller
Poster from 1907, reissued in the late 1940s and printed in Belgium. Designed by Leonetto Cappiello. The design promotes the “Thermogene” heating cushions, a well-known product that was popular from 1906 into the 1960s.
The depiction shows a figure in bright green clothing blowing fire, surrounded by two heating cushions that suggest warmth and comfort. The brown background combined with the yellow typography creates a strong visual contrast. The piece as a whole gives a clear sense of how everyday products at the time were presented in a striking way.
This work is a good example of posters from a period when advertising and the visual arts were closely related. The original hanging battens have been removed, which fits the condition and history of the piece. Suitable for collectors and lovers of vintage posters.
Condition: very good. The poster has never been folded. No notable discoloration or wear.
Professionally mounted on linen.
