Description from the seller
Title: Multicolor Vase
School: European School (XX)
Style: Impressionist
Technique: Oil on canvas
Interesting floral composition belonging to the European School of the 20th century, executed in oil on canvas. The work depicts a vibrant multicolor vase placed on a surface covered by a cloth in blueish and whitish tones, whose folds create a dynamic and enveloping background.
The floral arrangement consists of creams, pale pink, and salmon roses, accompanied by large red flowers with open petals and other varieties in burgundy and yellow hues. The brushwork is loose and expressive, with an intense and contrasting chromatic treatment that clearly evokes an Impressionist sensibility. The artist plays with light and color to create volume without resorting to rigid drawing, granting freshness and spontaneity to the ensemble.
The vase, in greenish tones, integrates harmoniously into the composition, while some fallen petals on the table contribute naturalness and a sense of a captured moment. The work conveys vitality and compositional balance, with color taking on a special protagonism as a structural element.
The frame is a carved and gilded wooden frame, in a classical style with undulating decoration and relief botanical motifs. The top pediment features an elegant central crest, and the ensemble shows fluted interior mouldings that enhance the painting. The gilding shows slight wear consistent with its age and use, which does not diminish its aesthetic and ornamental value.
The frame comes as a gift. It may incur damages during transport even with proper packaging.
Dimensions:
