Description from the seller
Decorative box / pill box in sterling silver 925 – woman with hat – England – Art Nouveau style
Elegant decorative box made of 925 sterling silver, with visible English hallmarks and a magnificent representation of a female inspired by the refined Art Nouveau style.
The lid features an elaborate relief with the profile of a woman with a hat ornamented with floral and vegetal motifs, a composition reminiscent of the modernist artistic language of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The flowing lines, the integration of natural elements and the prominent presence of the female figure evoke the aesthetic characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement.
The piece was made in England, probably during the second half of the 20th century, following the tradition of reinterpretations of classic modernist designs. The work combines mirror-like polished surfaces with finely executed relief details.
Marked with English hallmarks and 925 contrast.
