Description from the seller
Elegant English flower-form occasional table, called the “Marguerita” (daisy) style, dating from the early 19th century and crafted in fine mahogany. An elegant example of early 1800s English production, characterized by formal balance and meticulous detailing.
The circular top is delicately shaped with a petal-shaped edge, recalling the form of a daisy, and is enriched by a spectacular radial grain arranged in a fan pattern that converges harmoniously toward the center, highlighting the quality of the mahogany.
The turned central stem rests on three splayed legs, enhanced by vegetal carvings and terminating in paw-foot carved feet, a detail typical of the English taste of the period. The tripod base provides stability and grace, maintaining elegant and light proportions.
A highly charming table, ideal as a living-room centerpiece, gueridon, or conversation table, perfect for classic interiors, studies, or historic houses.
Dimensions:
Height: 62 cm
Diameter: 90 cm
