Description from the seller
Elegant Gallo-Roman terracotta statuette depicting the goddess Venus.
She is represented facing front, naked, slightly swaying her hips. She casually holds her mantle over her shoulders. Her right arm is raised and she holds the end of her veil in her hand.
Her hair is gathered up and held by a diadem.
The features are modeled in relief, the body's contours are elegant.
A statuette full of charm,
Roman era, 1st/2nd century AD.
Height 17.7 cm (height 20.2 cm with the base) - width 8.4 cm
Beige terracotta.
Good condition - no restoration
Provenance information: Germany, V.Z.N. gallery.
