Ottoman silver ring dating to the 19th–20th century, featuring a rectangular green glass intaglio with a stylised quadruped in the bezel and geometric decoration on the bezel and band, interior engraved with a bird motif, in good wearable condition, acquired from the Netherlands in 2022 with a Certificate of Authenticity available on request.

Islamic world / Ottoman Empire, antique silver ring with a rectangular green glass intaglio. The intaglio is set in a raised bezel and is engraved with a stylised quadruped, possibly a deer or antelope, and bordered by a band of incised pseudo-script.
The bezel border and ring band are ornately decorated with geometric and linear patterns, including stylised sun or rosette motifs. The interior of the ring is engraved with a stylised bird motif, shown in profile with a curved beak, rounded eye with flowing incised lines forming the wings, tail and body.
-> The decorative pseudo-inscriptions and animal motifs are characteristic of rings from the Islamic world, where symbolic and ornamental designs were often preferred over readable text.
Outside diameter: ± 24,8 mm
Inside diameter: ± 19,1 x 18,9 mm
Bezel: ± 21,6 x 14 x 7,8 mm
Condition: good solid condition and wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use.
