Anton Heyboer, Untitled, an original 1980s etching in abstract style, hand-signed, in good condition, from the Netherlands, framed and sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
Anton Heyboer etchings are often simple and direct, with rough, sketchy lines and strong contrasts. He works quickly and intuitively, with the graphic character of scratches and incisions remaining visible. As a result, his houses gain mainly an emotional, symbolic meaning rather than a realistic representation.
Anton Heyboer (1924-2005)
Due to his unusual way of life, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent lifestyle was expressed in a number of marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world', referring to his high art production. Heyboer trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, though still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on which his abstract artworks emerged. Yet there are always figurative elements present in his paintings and etchings. Heyboer also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions of the work without a frame: 38 x 30 cm
Framed work.
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition we have our own in-house framery, celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
