AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Art Deco candy box with lid or bonbonnière from the Belgian Faïenceries de Thulin, which existed under that name between 1923 and 1973. The faience works were located in Thulin, Wallonia – Belgium.

Round box with a half-serrated (half-toothed) edge. This serrated motif is continued even on the half-edge of the handle. Sobriety and thoughtful Art Deco design.

Faience box with the well-known color variations in the glaze of the 'Airain' range (partly matte / partly glossy glaze in the colors dark brown, green, white, cream yellow). Thulin produced a large number of objects in this range, in different forms. This bonbonnière is one of the rarer pieces.

The box is marked on the bottom ‘Made in Belgium’ and with the form number ‘475’ as a blind stamp. Also stamped ‘Fabriqué en Belgique’. The lid bears the black/silver sticker ‘Airain’.

In very good condition: no cracks, no breaks (see photos).

Carefully packed and insured shipping.
