Icon - Christ Pantocrator - Wood, Metal

It is a Russian Orthodox icon of Jesus Christ Pantocrator, probably made of gilded repoussed metal with remnants of polychromy and mounted on a wooden kiot box with a protective lid.

Christ appears facing forward, blessing with the right hand.
In the left he holds the Gospel.
The radiant halo and the decorative frame are typical of popular Russian icons from the late 19th century.
The decorative metal cover is called oklad or riza.
The wooden case with a door served to protect the icon from smoke and humidity.
