Description from the seller
Bukhara Rug from Pakistan
The Bukhara rug is one of the best-known and most popular Oriental rugs. Although its origin lies in the Central Asian city of Bukhara (today Uzbekistan), many of these carpets are now made in Pakistan—especially in the regions of Lahore and Karachi. Pakistani Bukhara rugs are known for their high quality, fine knotting, and their glossy wool material.
The so-called "Göl" pattern is typical for Bukhara rugs – a repeating octagonal or diamond-shaped motif that is regularly distributed across the entire field. The colors typically range from deep red to burgundy to warm beige or cream, combined with black, dark blue, or ivory.
Pakistani Bukhara rugs are usually woven with a blend of virgin wool and cotton, with the wool used for the pile and the cotton for the warp and weft. This gives the rug strength and durability, while the luster of the wool provides an elegant appearance.
Due to their harmonious patterns and warm tones, Bukhara rugs fit well in both classic and modern living spaces. They are both a piece of traditional craftsmanship and an expression of timeless elegance.
