Description from the seller

GENERAL:

Beautiful EMW from 1952. Only 505 produced. From garage Schotte BMW. Fully compliant with Belgian documents. This EMW has always been stored indoors and never driven in the rain. Always starts well. A unique car.

BODYWORK & PAINT:

The body is in original condition as purchased. Only the spare-wheel cover has been repaired and repainted, with new chromed trim. The right front fender has also been repainted. In general, the bodywork requires some attention and there are small defects. Door seals (gaskets) need addressing. The front chrome bumper is completely new, the rear bumper has been fully restored. There is no rust on the underbody; it has been fully treated with anti-stone-guard coating.

MECHANICAL:

The rims have been sand-blasted and repainted in the original color, with new tires (Kleber). New copper fuel tank. New exhaust. Brake lines have been repaired and equipped with new flexible brake hoses. No wear on suspension components. Brakes operate correctly. The engine has been completely rebuilt with new pistons, piston rings, valve adjusters, bearings, gaskets, spark plugs, plug leads, coil, etc. The starter motor has been rebuilt and fitted with a new regulator. New battery. Starts, runs, and shifts correctly.

INTERIOR:

The interior is fully fitted with new beige upholstery with new seating in off-white. The dashboard is fully original, except for the engine temperature gauge, which is not original. There is no original radio, but the current radio fits the car perfectly and works correctly. The sun visors are fully original. The convertibile roof (cabri-cab) is fully new, both inside and outside.

DOCUMENTS:

Fully compliant with Belgian documents.

PICKUP:

The EMW can be viewed in Oudenaarde, Belgium.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Rare car with limited production (only 505 units). Always carefully maintained and stored. In excellent mechanical condition with a largely original appearance.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
