Description of the Lot
Material: High-quality solid bronze.
Style: Neoclassical / Empire. Bronze age: estimated period, late 19th or early 20th century.
Artistic description: Elegant fluted bronze column characterized by three majestic lion heads finely chased at the top. The circular base is decorated with relief motifs and ends with elegant lion-paw feet, typical of Empire design.
Electrical wiring: The object was originally created as a precious candlestick and, as can be seen from the construction details, was electrified at a later date. The conversion was carried out in a way that preserves the integrity of the original casting.
Condition: Excellent structural condition. The bronze shows a splendid authentic patina that has not been altered. The electrical system is period and needs to be serviced.
