This versatile side table or stool is a functional work of art, carved from solid hardwood to ensure absolute structural integrity and a monolithic presence. Its design features a chunky, block-like top that transitions into a sturdy, grounded base, creating a silhouette that is both primitive and architecturally bold. The piece represents a raw exploration of volume, where the density of the material is celebrated through a sophisticated, hand-worked form.
The entire form is treated with a deep ebonized finish, giving the timber a rich, matte black tone that unifies the carved surface. This finish accentuates the handcrafted character of the piece, highlighting a surface with tool marks while allowing natural fissures, growth rings, and the wood's inherent grain to remain visible. The flat top surface provides a stable area for use as a table or a firm seat when used as a stool, showcasing the beautiful end-grain texture of the wood.

Expression forms of Logniture artists are various functional sculptures; both
aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically designed to be used as furniture. Their
motivation comes from nature and forms are based on a feeling of a moment as
well as extraordinary features of white poplar logs. Each log, that would
otherwise go to waste, is full of potential to become anything, from something as
small as a stylish fruit bowl or tabouret chair to something as large and luxurious
as double bathtub or even monumental throne.
