Description from the seller
Iconic mid-century modern 'space-age' table lamp by Philips from the 1960s, commonly known as the rocket lamp.
The minimalist and organic design is strongly inspired by the style of Louis Kalff.
The lamp has a warm teak wood base that rests on three brass tripod legs.
The slim, conical shade is made of white opaline glass and is held in place by an elegantly curved brass bracket.
The lamp emits a beautifully diffused and atmospheric light.
In good working vintage condition with original wiring, plug, and switch.
The brass and woodwork are in nice condition with a light, age-appropriate patina.
Important note about the glass (see detail photos): At the extreme top edge of the glass shade there is a small superficial chip (flea bite). Additionally, there is a tiny optical spot on the glass. Both are hardly noticeable in everyday use due to their height and position and do not affect the integrity of the glass.
