The Baoulé believe that every person has an ideal husband or wife in the afterlife. They manifest themselves in dreams, notably erotic ones. When they appear as persecutors, the village diviner has a statuette sculpted called blolo bla for the wife and blolo bian for the husband. These are kept in the spouses' bedrooms, which they take great care of. Beautiful brown patina for everyday use.
