Yamaha A-500 – technically inspected, measured, very clean condition

A very beautiful vintage piece of jewelry

I am selling a Yamaha A-500, which I have fully inspected, small parts replaced, cleaned and electrically measured.

This is explicitly not an untested device, but a technically cleanly built amplifier.

Work performed:

• all inputs tested (including Phono MM and MC)

• switches and potentiometers cleaned

• speaker relays replaced

• device interior completely cleaned

• offset and idle current correctly set

• critical solder joints checked

• 3 transistors replaced (due to thermal irregularities)

• speaker relays exchanged

• phase at the mains plug adjusted


Measurement (Rohde & Schwarz Audio Analyzer):

• THD at 1 watt:

• THD at 95 watts (max distortion-free power):

• measurement conducted at 8 ohms in stereo operation

• both channels evenly and stably

Condition / Function:

• technically flawless

• no dropouts or contact problems

• plays very cleanly and stably
