AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

With mixed feelings, I offer this special Burlington kit car for sale. The car has belonged to my father, who recently passed away. He always worked on it with great pleasure and drove it regularly. It is a rare Burlington, built on Triumph Vitesse / Triumph Herald technology – a true enthusiast’s car with character and a wonderful sound.

Bodywork and paint
The body is in nice condition appropriate for the car’s age. The paint looks well-kept, with no major damage or rust. No known accident damage. There is, however, a crack in the windscreen. The other windows, seals and lighting are in good condition. Any light signs of use are appropriate for a classic. There are no known areas that require work.

Technical condition
The car runs well and is ready to drive away. The engine and gearbox operate as expected; the Triumph inline six sounds nice and delivers a characteristic tone.
The car is equipped with:
- Front suspension with new bushings
- Steering system checked
- 5 new rims & new tires (Conti CT22)
- Maintenance service on the engine including valve adjustment, etc.
- Lighting checked and all electrical functions working
- New rear lights (Spitfire MK3) and extra orange indicators
- Improved wiring in the engine bay
- New APK (Dutch roadworthiness certificate)
- New matching steering wheel

There are no known technical defects or leaks. Brakes, suspension and clutch operate as expected. The car starts well, both cold and warm. My father always maintained the car with care and spared no expense. Concrete maintenance history and documentation are available.

Interior condition
The interior is neat and appropriate for the car’s age. Upholstery, seats and dashboard are in good condition without notable damage. The car has the character of a classic open sports car; everything functions as expected for this type of vehicle. A soft-top cover for over the car is present, burgundy color matching the interior.

Documentation
The car has a Dutch registration (XZ-003-X). Documentation for the car is available.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
