Description from the seller
Pompeian cup in chased bronze with vegetal motifs – Grand Tour 19th century
Splendid Pompeian cup in solid bronze, dating to the 19th century, in Grand Tour taste, characterized by an elegant stage presence and refined decorative work of clear archaeological and neoclassical inspiration. The piece presents a harmonious structure supported by a molded central foot and two refined stylized side handles, a nod to the forms of classical antiquity so loved by Grand Tour travelers.
The entire surface is adorned with a magnificent relief vegetal decoration with ivy leaves and clusters of berries, executed with great plasticity and ornamental sense. The antique patina of the bronze, deep and authentic, gives the object a warm, museal charm, enhancing the volumes and sculptural details.
A object of strong decorative taste, ideal for classical interiors, studies, libraries, or refined interiors where it can dialogue with marbles, bronzes and antique furnishings. Perfect also as a centerpiece or ornamental cup for display.
Interior design tips: extraordinary on a dark wooden console, a substantial bookshelf, or at the center of a marble table, where the bronze patina creates an elegant material contrast. Also ideal inserted into modern interiors to add character, depth and timeless charm through an authentic decorative element with archaeological taste.
Dimensions: height 12 cm, maximum width with handles 18 cm, body width 12 cm. Important weight of about 1040 grams, indicating the quality of the solid bronze used.
Very good conditions for its age. The cup preserves a splendid antique patina and shows normal and very light signs of time consistent with its age, which do not compromise the beauty, solidity or overall harmony of the object.
Photos are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packing entrusted to industry professionals.
