Two Chinese porcelain plates in Qing dynasty style (Guangxu period, circa 1875–1908) dating to 1850–1900, each 17.5 cm in diameter and 1 cm high, handmade decorated ceramic featuring flowers and butterflies in pastel pink, green and blue, with age-related signs and an apocryphal red square-mark on the base.
Description from the seller
These two Chinese dishes are made in hand-decorated ceramic in the Rose Family style, characterized by a palette of soft glazes in which pink, green and blue shades predominate. The decoration, airy and delicate, represents the classic theme “flowers and butterflies,” a symbol of good luck, beauty and constant change.
An analysis of the form and decoration suggests production dating to the second half of the 19th century, roughly during the Qing dynasty period (Guangxu reign, 1875-1908). The red mark on the bottom, enclosed in a square, is an apocryphal seal that recalls earlier periods, a common practice at that time to honor imperial tradition.
Diameter 17.5 cm
The plates are generally in good condition, showing signs and material flaws due to age and the era to which they date, normal wear and tear over time. Defects visible in the photographs.
Please examine the photographs carefully as they are an integral part of the description.
Tracked shipping including secure packaging, any duties and customs taxes will be borne by the purchaser.
