Bowl - Rhodonite - Carved and polished

A superb solid rhodonite bowl, carved and polished from a single block of the semi precious stone for a measurement of 8,5 x 7,6cm and weight of 278g, the dark pink coloured rhodonite almost red in places. A very desirable stone, sometime referred to as the Love stone.
The sarcophagus of Maria Alexandrovna in St. Petersburg is made entirely of Rhodonite, see last picture. Encased and immortalized in love (carved from the largest boulder ever found in history).

Condition: Very good, no significant damages or repairs.
