Twisted Arm Ring, Viking Age
Bronze arm ring with a round cross-section and three-dimensionally executed twisting decoration. The ring is open-worked; the ends taper slightly and face each other. The surface shows a dark green to brown patina, with areas of roughening and age-related corrosion.
Such twisted arm rings are among the classic jewelry forms of the Viking era. They served not only as personal adornment but also as portable wealth.
