Silver coin of Ottoman Egypt featuring on the obverse the characteristic calligraphic tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, of elegant Islamic style and fluid stroke, occupying the center field with well-defined ornamental elements. The reverse shows the face value inside a symmetrical vegetal crown, with the Arabic inscriptions and the Islamic date accompanied by the accession year, topped by a crescent and star. The reliefs are preserved sharply and the design maintains good overall presence, with residual lustre visible in the fields. The piece has been cleaned in the past, a circumstance noted by the grading service, though it retains an attractive appearance and full details typical of an uncirculated specimen. Historically belongs to the late period of Ottoman rule over Egypt, when coinage retained the imperial iconography of the sultan.
