Originating in Egypt, this Mamluk model rug is woven in wool on cotton, measures 287 by 200 cm, dates from the 21st century, and is in very good condition and professionally cleaned.

This rug reproduces the design of a highly crafted Mamluk Rug from between the 15th and 17th centuries under the sovereignty of the Mamluks in Egypt, from where it takes its name. This Mamluk Rug was woven in Egypt with the finest quality wool dyed with vegetable dyes. They are so fine that they resemble fabrics that cover the floor. In pure colors, they create very warm and elegant environments at the same time. It uses reds, greens, bluish grays, or very natural browns characteristic of this rug, with geometric designs.
