Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora Chin’Art" - 2/20
When origin becomes an argument.
Following the success of the Aurora Borealis, Original Fake, Aurora Authentic Fake, Aurora Get Rich… AMA continues its ironic exploration of luxury codes, perceived value, and the slogans that govern our era.
“Aurora Chin’Art” – Chin’Art condenses the era into two simple, almost provocative words, etched as a business certainty… and yet transformed into a luminous, chrome, hypnotic object, at the threshold of a manifesto.
On the base, the message is blunt:
CHIN’ART.
And around it, unflinchingly, the discourse sharpens:
HANDMADE.
But the word is altered, the HAND is crossed out. Then the mention: IN CHINA.
A cold, deliberate declaration.
A punchline that sounds like a rule of modern play: what is displayed… is not always what is sold.
The day: a mirror-like, bright icon, almost clinical.
The night: a northern lights of reflections and glints, immersive, fascinating, almost “too beautiful” to be innocent.
A deliberate contrast: spectacle on one side, the promise on the other.
Limited edition of 20 copies for 2025, signed, numbered, and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature on delivery.
Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (static, fading transitions, simple transitions)
- Electrical power via USB cord with switch (included)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm
- Depth: 9 cm
Who is Pope?
Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe carried by a practice in the visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings, and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes, and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and awed gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope primarily draws inspiration from the world around him but also through currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether as a gift, a memory, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his urban art passion through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (whether limited edition or not), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug harms, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, and products of the agro-food and fashion industries (sport, sneakers...).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. aware of this impact, Pope enjoys playfully distorting labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many more.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to appreciate the sold lot is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description, and photos… After the sale, no unjustified claims will be accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
