Explanation of the work:
Steel is one of the hardest and most resistant materials we have. As a master of steel, I am used to feeling its hardness and strength, and when I see that strength represented in the essence of metal sculptures, but with this new collection I want to do the opposite, something even more challenging: to endow it with sensitivity and to trick the viewer by presenting a sculpture made of hard, resistant steel that looks like silk, that appears to be a sensitive and elegant piece, simple and delicate, yet visually powerful.
These are pieces of stainless steel finished with reliefs, with meticulous attention paid to every detail. With them I seek a more effortless elegance and the desire to create a deception in the spectator’s mind, like a trompe-l’œil.
They are forged pieces crafted with utmost care, in an idyllic setting, in full connection with steel and art. They are born with the sound of every fold, of strength and delicacy, and from there the notes of their movements—apparently wrinkled and open—flow.
I am drawn to artisanal and groundbreaking designs; thus, with these vertical, wall-mounted sculptures, I focus on becoming part of a new reality where I seek color, texture, and sinuous shapes. Who would say this is steel? These sculptures, with a magically wrinkled appearance, make me revere this primitive material, for it makes everything possible, without limits to creation or to creativity. Even steel can look as light as silk.
The piece plays a mirror-like effect that makes light bounce, creating spectacular light and shadow play. Creating a sculpture at the forefront of contemporary art.
Hangs easily like a painting.

Through each of his pieces, he strives to bring out the melody that lives inside each of us. Soler cites the transformation of cold steel into sculpture as his way of connecting with what is invisible to our eyes and what can only be perceived with universal feelings.
