Platine MD equipped with the HDES system (High Density Encoding System), a next-generation proprietary audio compression technology.
This circuit compresses high-quality music signals by assigning bits to the optimal audible frequency band, reducing pre-echo noise through temporal segmentation and minimizing quantization noise with a new method.

Equipped with a 24-bit ATRAC digital signal processor, it processes digital data with 24-bit precision during compression or expansion, thereby improving the reproduction of sonic details.

It also incorporates a 20-bit digital-to-analog converter and a 20-bit analog-to-digital converter.

A sampling frequency converter ensures compatibility with various digital sources.

Featuring an analog recording level control to adjust the input analog recording level,
this device offers MD editing functions (split, concatenate, move, erase) and an MD title entry function via a wheel.

It also provides synchronized recording and programmed rerecording functions,
as well as two optical inputs and one optical output.

A wireless remote control is included, as well as the power cable.
