Description from the seller
Antique Armchair | Baroque Style | Germany, ca. 1890
A beautifully crafted antique armchair in the Baroque Historicist style, dating to approximately 1880–1910. The chair features an impressive dark hardwood frame — likely walnut or stained beech — with richly hand-carved details throughout: acanthus leaf motifs on the armrests and legs, elegant scrolled volute armrest terminals, and distinctive carved lion's paw feet. The seat and back are upholstered in a period-appropriate floral brocade fabric with brass nail head trim. The underside reveals original upholstery construction, confirming authentic period craftsmanship.
The wooden frame is in solid, stable condition with no visible cracks or repairs. The upholstery shows age-related wear consistent with its age and would benefit from professional reupholstering — an opportunity to tailor the piece to your interior.
A striking statement piece for any classical or eclectic interior.
Condition: Good antique condition; reupholstering recommended
Provenance: Private family collection, Germany
