Description from the seller
Crown for statue in silver, 18th century (probably Virgin Mary)
Ancient crown in repoussé and chased silver, intended for a devotional statue, most likely a Marian representation.
It is composed of a circular band decorated with ovals and raised diamonds, alternating and outlined by a fine planishing work. The upper part is openwork and adorned with a continuous decor of scrolls, foliage, and stylized fleurons, with almond-shaped motifs and volutes, typical of religious ornamentation of the 17th–18th centuries.
The vegetal decoration, rhythmic and symmetrical, evokes Marian symbolism (purity, spiritual fertility), which reinforces the attribution to a Virgin Crown.
Old homogeneous patina, slight deformations and wear consistent with liturgical use and mounting on a statue.
Traces of old shocks and losses on certain tips
Head diameter 9 cm
The photos are an integral part of the object's description and complement its presentation. They allow assessing its condition and features. Please examine them carefully before any commitment
The object will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number, to ensure rapid and secure delivery.
