Commemorative coin issued on the occasion of the centennial of the Swiss Federal Constitution of 1848, the foundational text of the modern Swiss federal state. The obverse features a high-quality allegorical composition in which Helvetia is depicted as a maternal and protective figure, accompanied by a child symbolizing the nation’s future, with a smooth and balanced modelling of the volumes. The reverse, solemn and epigraphic in character, stands out for its clear typographic arrangement and the strong symbolic charge of the Swiss cross, reinforcing the institutional message of stability and constitutional continuity.
