Paolo KOZMA - Freud's Soul

As a performer artist with good skills contemporary dance, I start from my body as a brush. I treat painting as an unique live performative event.

This artwork is part of a larger Live Performative Painting show, titled < Je ne regrette riene! > and it was created in front of audience. The story & the music (Rammstein) & the emotions behind the painting now come forward through the colors with incredible force towards the viewer.

“Freud’s Soul” is not just a painting — it is a visceral imprint of a live moment where body, sound, and emotion collided. Created during an immersive performance blending dance and music, this work captures raw psychological energy translated directly onto canvas.

In this piece, the artist’s body became the brush. Every movement, every tension, every surge of feeling was physically transferred into the composition, leaving behind a powerful, unfiltered trace. The surface is saturated with vivid, electric red — a color that evokes blood, desire, trauma, and life force all at once. It doesn’t sit still; it pulses.

Streams resembling tears run through the work, adding a striking sense of vulnerability and release. These flowing marks suggest both breakdown and catharsis — a visual echo of emotional exposure. The title, “Freud’s Soul,” references a descent into the unconscious, where instinct overrides control and hidden layers of the psyche emerge without restraint.

The artwork will be shipped as a rolled, unstretched canvas for safe delivery. Packaged in tube box and wrapped properly.
Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, i.e. placed onto wooden stretcher bars) and/or framed by a local framer upon arrival completely normal for rolled canvas. Minor waves or creases may be visible upon arrival, which is completely normal for rolled canvas. These will disappear once the canvas is stretched or framed by a professional framer.

All my shipments will be made through DHL EXPRESS or a similar company, always trying to guarantee the safety, care and efficient delivery of the work. However, delays that may occur in the case of goods are beyond my control; I will always be attentive to tracking the shipment and any incident that may arise, being at the customer's disposal to provide appropriate assistance and support.
