Vintage Ottoman‑influenced jewelry box dating to around 1930–1940, built on a solid wood core and fully clad in sheet silver with hand‑hammered repoussé decoration, lined in salmon‑pink satin with button‑tufted detailing, and retaining the original brass/bronze trefoil key with a functional locking mechanism.
Description from the seller
A particularly beautiful and finely crafted vintage jewelry box with strong Ottoman cultural influences, dating from the mid-20th century.
The box is built on a solid wooden structure, completely clad in thick sheet of genuine silver. The entire exterior features intricate, hand-hammered and repoussé decorations in deep relief, depicting detailed floral and vegetal motifs, demonstrating the craftsmanship of the era.
The interior is fully lined with its original salmon-pink satin, elegantly finished in a button-tufted style with decorative pearl-like rivets. The object retains its original brass/bronze trefoil key, and the locking mechanism is fully functional.
The silver plating has been chemically tested with acid proof (as per the attached documentary photos). The reaction produced a dark red/brown color, confirming a high silver content (typical of pieces from this region and period, with a purity between .800 and .925).
good vintage condition, with an authentic aged patina to the silver and normal, minor signs of wear to the satin interior lining, elements that enhance its historical charm. No major bends or structural defects
