Tea caddy/ box - Porcelain - Kangxi (1662-1722)
Very elegent blue-and-white Chinese porcelain tea caddy, made in Jingdezhen during the Kangxi period (1662–1722). The vessel is sparsely decorated with magnolia flower sprays and a flying insect. The silver mount, bearing a sword hallmark and an unidentified maker’s mark, is a later Dutch addition dating to the early 20th century.
Condition: the vase, very good apart from a very short clean tension line in the neck; the silver mount, minor dents under the silver lid (see photographs).
Origin: private Dutch collection
Dimensions: 15,1 cm (height) x 4 (ø foot) cm
