Rare Caucasian Kazak rug “Eagle” / Chelaberd, knotted in the South Caucasus around 1870–1880.
The piece features the distinctive large “eagle” motif, geometric borders, and an intense color palette obtained with natural dyes (indigo, madder, ivory).

The weave is compact, the wool is soft and bright.
The rug is authentic, not recolored and not heavily restored, a quality today increasingly hard to find.
