Description from the seller

Ravishing, rare if not unique... jug shape prepared at the base of a lamp, signed by the famous ceramicist Capron (for Roger Capron) Vallauris, France
Date from the 1950s-1960s
Roger Capron, born in Vincennes on September 4, 1922 and died in Cannes on November 8, 2006
Initially interested in drawing, Roger Capron was a student at the School of Applied Arts on Rue Dupetit-Thouars in Paris from 1938 to 1943, before teaching drawing there from 1945.

The discovery of ceramics led him to change medium: on February 6, 1946 he settled in Vallauris, where he created a ceramic workshop, Callis. In doing so, he partnered with Robert Picault and then Jean Derval in 1948, thus taking part in the renaissance of ceramics in Vallauris where he implemented the motto of his master, René Gabriel, “making beauty accessible to all.”
Good overall condition, I show in the photo a small impact but superficial on the belly of the jug as well as a small original color stain (photos 12-15 and 16)... otherwise perhaps usable as-is as a collectible item or could be adapted into a lamp ... this piece would deserve a small restoration by a professional
Hyper-protected shipping with insurance will be provided.
