Crucifix - Limewood - 1930-1940 - 46 cm

Large table crucifix (or altar crucifix) from the mid-20th century (circa 1930–1950), originating from France or Belgium.

The piece is carved from a very light wood (likely linden), with a beautiful original patina in a dark color.

The Christ features lovely sculptural details, typical of folk or monastic art of that period.

Condition: Damages: No major loss or cracks to report. The object is sound and structurally stable.
Alterations / Restorations: No restoration. The object is entirely "as is". Note that the small upper plaque (the titulus "INRI") has slightly loosened with time and swivels on its mounting axis, which is quite normal for its age and attests to its authenticity.
