Multi-track/16-track Recorder Yamaha AW2816:

16 or 24 bit

A total of 130 tracks: 16 physical, 8 virtual for each physical and a stereo. The sampling frequency can be 44.1kHz or 48kHz.
It features a function called "All Rec" that allows simultaneous recording of the eight physical inputs.
For data the hardware can be stored on the built-in 20GB hard drive, but the original can be replaced with another (up to 64GB).
Additionally it provides some optional adapters for two disks or more. Up to 6.4GB for a single recording and up to 30,000 songs for each disk.
Editing Non-destructive. A very interesting feature is the ability to search position markers directly on the waveform on the large display. Quick and easy.
The text for each song and a very handy calendar make organizing the work easy and comfortable.
The mixer: Everyone knows it is a 02R, a very famous Yamaha product. Well, the built-in mixer of the AW2816 is a version of the 02R inside a recorder with several of the most important features and with the same performance. The signal conversion is 24-bit with 32-bit internal processing.
Inputs 8: two XLR with Phantom Power for microphones, and 6 TRS. Channel 8 is a Hi-Z input for guitar.
Additionally, a digital input and an optional card that has eight additional inputs.

Motorized faders
It is equipped with 60‑mm motorized faders, so it automatically returns to the remembered scene position when you recall it.
Equalization and dynamics on every channel

Each input and the main stereo output have dedicated controls for equalization and dynamics.
The AW2816 provides many ready-to-use settings for EQ and dynamics.
They are very solid and for every possible context you can take a ready-to-use patch.

Effects
Many for guitar, or other instruments, the voice or for the final mix.
Obviously, they are of high quality. The DSP is the same as used in the 02R and in the AW4416.

General opinion
Well, Yamaha has discontinued production, but this certainly does not mean it isn’t a valid product!
You can buy this recorder and own your professional home studio (bought new for €2400)
it was the top-of-the-line product of its time among multi-track recorders in its class
knowing that it is like new, everything works perfectly, having only been used to record a single album.
Since then it has been quietly waiting in my boxes and I no longer used it—what a shame!
hoping to make someone happy and thousands of recording hours ahead!
At this price it can really be an excellent solution for professional work,
with the added value of motorized faders, the mixer and the overall quality. a great buy!
