Sculpture, Giovanna - 40 cm - Plaster

Inspired by Gemito's statue. The plaster bust depicts a young woman wearing a soft, flowing cloth hood, in the Art Nouveau style or late 19th-century French realism.

The face has a thoughtful expression, eyes cast downward with a melancholy and evocative gaze. The scarf or fabric hood is shaped with soft, natural folds that gently frame the face.

The characteristic matte, smooth surface of the poured plaster is often used by art studios as a preliminary sketch before carving marble, or produced in limited quantities for classical interior decoration.
