Pair of Chinese Peking bed-runner rugs, circa 1950–1960

We present an elegant pair of Chinese Peking rugs, originally woven as bed runners. They stand out for their refined traditional Chinese floral design with stylized peonies and geometric borders on soft ivory, peach, and jade blue tones.

Woven in high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, these pieces feature a thick, compact, and very tight structure, and are also heavy for their size—traits characteristic of mid-20th-century Peking production. They are preserved in excellent condition, with no stains or structural damage. Only a light cleaning is recommended to refresh the colors and enhance their appearance.

Authentic period pair, increasingly difficult to find in this format and condition.
