Tea caddy/ box - Porcelain - Kangxi (1662-1722)
Beautiful blue-and-white Chinese porcelain tea caddy, made in Jingdezhen during the Kangxi period (1662–1722). The unusually decorated vessel depicts two panels of idealised Chinese river landscapes, with the Great Wall visible in the background. The hallmarked silver mount, bearing a sword mark, is a later Dutch addition dating to the early 20th century. Overall, very high quality and of unusually large size.
Condition: the vase, very good apart from two clean hairlines; the mount, locally some small dents (see photographs).
