Description from the seller

For sale: an exquisite opera glass from the noble Hartmann-Wetzlar brand, model “Gilda.” A true piece of German optical history from the 1960s.
The Hartmann-Optik company (founded 1921) was a smaller but highly regarded manufacturer in the “Optics City” of Wetzlar. While brands like Leica/Leitz achieved worldwide fame, Hartmann was long regarded by connoisseurs as a well-kept secret for excellent prism glass and theater optics.

Hartmann-Wetzlar is known for its outstanding lens technology, and this glass is a prime example. It captivates with its rare forest-green lacquer and the artistically engraved silver ornament.
Condition: Collector-worthy! The lacquer is well preserved, the mechanism runs butter-smooth.
Optics: The lenses are clear, no fungus, no scratches.
Special feature:
The eye relief can be adjusted.
Slight musty smell!

Accessories: With matching original green leather case. Zipper of the leather case slightly damaged, see pictures. Can be sewn!

A rarity for enthusiastic collectors!
