Working tool - Two hubs for cart wheels.

Spectacular hubs for wagon wheels, they are wooden cylinders that taper at the ends, in such a way as to form two constrictions on which the iron spokes sit to prevent them from breaking. The interior of the hub is hollow to be slipped onto the axle together with the brass core. Vertically on the first piece there are rectangular openings where the tapered heads of the spokes found their seats. On the other piece, instead of openings, there are rectangular recesses. A very rare pair given their condition.. very beautiful items for display
