Description from the seller
Set of 12 Art Deco knife rests in a case, Aristide Colotte design style, thickly ground glass porte-couteaux, French tableware
The set has a geometric, architectural, layered profile, directly inspired by the work of master glassmaker Aristide Colotte (1885-1959) from Nancy, dating from the mid-1920s. Although Colotte was famous for his heavy, uniquely carved "pièces uniques", prestigious French glass houses such as Baccarat, Saint-Louis, or specialized high-end crystal studios in the Lorraine region produced these matching luxury table accessories as a complement to the elite Art Deco interior trends of that era.
The presentation case, with the original brass clasp and the exterior of textured faux leather, exactly matches the luxury French cutlery and dinnerware packaging from the late 1920s.
High-quality pressed glass.
Excellent vintage condition with incredible clarity. The glass is still beautifully clear with minimal signs of aging. (See the photos for details).
Dimensions and weight:
Case: 23 x 19 x 4.5 cm.
Knife rests:
Length 9.5 cm.
Width 1.8 cm.
Height 2.4 cm.
Weight 1040 grams
The knife rests are well packed and sent by registered mail
