Alfred Kubin (1877-1959).

 Published by Josef Heindl, Schärding, 1981. 

With 35 lithographs—illustrations on 18 double sheets in a book-style binding, 9 of them based on drawings by the artist from 1935. 
Original linen slipcase with A. Kubin's blind-stamped signature on the front cover. 40 x 54 cm. Weight: 3.150 kg. We believe the edition is 300 copies.

With these sometimes dark and unsettling depictions, reminiscent of fairy tales and legends, Kubin created an imaginative monument to the Bohemian Forest, where he occasionally spent his summers...

The work is in perfect condition, except for a crease on the flyleaf, as seen in the photographs.
