Description from the seller
Amphora Riessner (full name Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel) refers to famous Bohemian/Czech art-nouveau and art-deco ceramics. The factory was located in Turn-Teplitz (now Trnovany, Czech Republic) and produced from the late 19th century into the 1930s world-renowned, hand-decorated decorative vases and urns. Based in Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia (present-day Czech Republic). At the time this fell under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which is why vases often bear the stamps "Austria" and later "Czechoslovakia". Founded in 1892 by Alfred Stellmacher, his sons-in-law Hans Riessner and Rudolf Kessel, and Eduard Stellmacher. The work is known for its flowing art-nouveau forms, rich glazes, and jewel-like inlaid (or enameled) details. Both items are in beautiful condition, though the basket has a small defect on the inside of the upper rim and a tiny flaw in the same rim. The vase is in perfect condition with no notable issues. Dimensions: the vase is 16 cm tall and 9 cm in diameter. The basket is 15 cm tall and 16 cm in diameter.
