Elise Eekhout, Netherlands, original 2022 acrylic and mixed‑media painting on canvas titled Conversations 06 - Female Nude - NO RESERVE, 50 × 70 cm, purple, black and silver, hand‑signed, in excellent condition, sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
In this painting, the artist has played with acrylic, silver- and purple-colored leaf metal to capture a deep sense of mystery. The abstract layers and impressionistic touches combined with typographic texts create a wholly new dimension. It brings a warm energy to your space.
This work is part of the ‘Liza’ series by Elise Eekhout and is an abstract translation of a female nude, in which each facet reveals its own hidden beauty. The changing light throughout the day causes the metallic details to stand out to varying degrees. As a result, the painting changes over the course of the day.
- Technique: modern, high-quality acrylic painting technique using brushes, dripping technique, and gilding on canvas, finished with shellac.
- Dimensions: (height) 50 x (width) 70 cm.
- For an additional cost, it is possible to have the work framed in a black wooden frame: (height) 54 x (width) 74 cm.
- As good as new (2022)
- Origin: Certificate of Origin from Atelier Elise Eekhout - registered at 2 MAAL EE
- Shipping method: insured, safely packed in a custom-made cardboard box including acid-free paper and bubble wrap.
About the artist:
Elise Eekhout is a visual artist whose work subtly combines painting and language in a layered dialogue. Inspired by literature, memory, and landscape, she creates works in which text and image exist side by side—sometimes clearly visible, sometimes barely perceptible. Letters function both as meaning and form and dissolve as soon as they are read.
Using acrylic paint, screen printing, and materials such as (noble) gold and silver leaf, Eekhout builds textures that respond to light and movement. As the viewer's position changes, words appear or disappear and landscapes shift between presence and abstraction. Each work gradually reveals itself over time.
Themes such as memory, transformation, and humanity’s connection to nature form a common thread through her work. Eekhout’s paintings invite quiet attention and reward extended looking, giving collectors a contemplative piece that continues to unfold long after entering a space.
