AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

An exceptionally elegant and large Art Deco glass decorative bowl on a stem, known as the "Coupe Bijou", designed by the French master glass artist Charles Schneider (Épinay-sur-Seine). Produced in the early 1920s.

The broad, goblet-shaped coupe is made of beautifully faceted clear glass with molten white-gray powders (poudré) embedded to create a refined, snowy effect. The bowl rests hot-applied on a slender, dark-purple to violet-black glass stem featuring vertical ribbing (canellures) and a round foot.

Authenticity:

The coupe is hand-engraved on the top of the foot with the original, flowing signature "Schneider". Very rare and important to collectors: the signature is accompanied by the engraved amphora/vaso logo, which was used exclusively for Schneider's top pieces from this flourishing period.
