Description from the seller

Rare Collector’s Lot: Braun Paxette II Rangefinder Camera with First-Rate Lens Set (M39 for Paxette)

For sale is a beautiful, historic camera ensemble from the 1950s from Carl Braun (Nuremberg). The set is in a remarkable condition – an absolute rarity for equipment of this age.

1. Camera body: Braun Paxette II

Equipped with the sturdy Prontor-SVS central shutter.

Condition: Technically flawless. The shutter fires cleanly, the speeds (including long exposures) run plausibly and precisely. The optical viewfinder/rangefinder is clean. Visually, it is very well preserved with only minimal age-related signs of wear on the body.

2. Wide-angle lens: Staeble-Lineogon 1:3.5 / 35mm (mounted on the camera)

A rarer, very charming wide-angle lens.

Condition: The mechanics move smoothly and the glass is clean.

Important note: The front silver aluminum ring (filter thread) has a slight dent at one spot (see detail photos). This is purely cosmetic – the focusing ring turns freely and without grinding, and the image quality is by no means affected. Attaching filters may be somewhat restricted because of this.

3. Standard lens: Steinheil München Cassarit 1:2.8 / 50mm (-E-)

The legendary fixed focal length from Munich, known for its gorgeous "Bubble Bokeh" on modern digital cameras.

Condition: Excellent. Lenses clear and clean (no fungus, no haze), aperture blades open and close flawlessly, focus runs butter-smooth.

4. Telephoto lens: Steinheil München Tele-Quinar 1:3.5 / 135mm

High-quality, distinctive telephoto lens in the classic silver finish.

Condition: Very good collector’s condition. The lenses are clear and the mechanical rings operate flawlessly. Includes the original, transparent plastic case/cover.

5. Accessories:

Original brown leather ready-case (top-loader) in good condition.

A contemporary filter in its red original screw thread container.
