A compressed telluric force — and suddenly, the rupture. The green spurts forth like a primary eruption, burning, alive, uncontrollable. The carved black still holds — but for how long? Between the two worlds, a violet line: neither boundary nor peace. A signal. A held-back cry.
Maria Ruisi works in multiple layers, acrylic and resin applied over several days. Each layer dries according to a precise chronology before the next one challenges it. Texture is not an effect — it is the physical memory of the process.
All materials are 100% European: the Netherlands, Switzerland, France. 100% cotton canvas, 50 × 40 cm, 2 cm depth. Created in 2018, enriched each year. Minimalist black frame included.
Original work signed on the front and back. The back bears a handwritten inscription by the artist — full text, artwork within the artwork. The work is mounted without permanent fixation: the collector chooses. Canvas alone? The signature, numbering and complete documentation are inscribed on the hard wood frame. Frame included preserved? The back of the frame becomes the official verso of the work — signed, numbered, documented by the artist. The frame no longer contains the artwork. It is part of it.
